The Co-operative was founded in 1956 on the initiative of 23 vine-growers from different towns within the Trexenta district, an area of rolling hills where wine-growing dates back to ancient times.
In the years of great production (1970/1980) the Trexenta Wine Co-operative carried out vast export operations to France and Germany, prevalently Monica grapes (for red wines) and Nuragus grapes (for white wines).
In the 1980s the Co-operative began to diversify its activity, aiming to improve and develop part of its production through the sale of bottled wine. At the same time diversification was also seen in the vineyards, where varieties of grapes were introduced which had previously only been cultivated marginally. Vineyards of Vermentino and Cannonau sprang up, and more recently Chardonnay, Montepulciano and Carignano.
