Today the Trexenta Wine Co-operative can count on an
area of about 350 hectares dedicated to grape cultivation, managed by
just over 200 members, about 20 of which represent 80% of the whole
production. This allows the Co-operative to manage the vineyard section
with constant programming, essential to achieve their high standards
of quality.
A vineyard, run directly by the Co-operative, situated on the hills
of the Guamaggiore Region, covering 20 hectares, allows the Co-operative
to re-propose some varieties of grapes which had almost disappeared,
but which represented an extremely precious patrimony in the oenological
history of the area.
Most of the Trexenta Co-operative's vineyards are, however, managed
by vine-grower members; the professionalism of whom is unquestionable
since it has been passed down from father to son for a number of generations.
About 800,000 /1,000,000 bottles are produced annually. 50% of the production
is sold in Sardinia, whilst the remaining 50% is divided into 30% for
the rest of the peninsular and 20% for the foreign market.
The trend of a growth in sales abroad suggests that in the future the
foreign market will make up 40% of the business turnover.
Today the Trexenta Wine Co-operative boasts a spacious reception room
for groups and guided wine tasting, two small apartments for the use
of guests and a wine shop for purchases.
Groups have to book in advance, whilst the wine shop is open to the
public every day, morning and afternoon, following normal opening times.
(Closed Saturday afternoon).
