Malvasia di Cagliari
Controlled Denomination of Origin.
Experts believe that this grape, Sardinian Malvasia,
probably has Greek origins, hence the synonym Greek grape.
It is one of the most popular Sardinian dessert wines, but it is mainly
produced in the Campidano area of Cagliari. It can be considered a wine
for contemplation because of its complex but harmonious
organoleptic structure.
It is a delicate golden colour, with a fruity, floral bouquet (hints
of elderberry, peach and banana), and a delicate, smooth flavour.
It is best served chilled (10/12°C), traditionally with typical
sweets, or, in a more extravagant, fancy way with spicy pecorino cream
cheese, preferably spread on pane carasau (typical Sardinian
bread).
Serving temperature: 6°C.
Alcohol content: 14% Vol.
