The practice of maturing the wine in 225 lt. durmast barrels (barriques) has spread throughout the world with great success. It was also used for some time in Sardinia producing very satisfactory results. Tanca Su Conti is the result of a balanced mix of Cannonau and Carignano, matured for 18 months in French durmast barrels before being left to refine in bottles for another 6 months.
It is a product with a distinctly complex blend, the synthesis of a perfect balance between the tannin from the wood, tannin from the wine, acids, alcohol and other volatile substances.
It is best appreciated when it accompanies game (partridge, wild boar, hare etc.). It should be served at a temperature of 18°C
